Spotlight on Local Support: Sarah Semmens

Sarah Semmens is the Local Support Liaison for the Chiari and Syringomyelia Group for Cornwall. Listen to her radio interview to learn more about the conditions and the support available.

Since holding the first re-established support group meeting, Sarah has agreed to take on the role of National Support Group Liaison Officer and it is her goal to help to re-instate the peer support groups for the Charity.

In order to do this, we need a network of volunteers who would be interested in setting up a meeting in their local area. The intention is to set-up a local group in various geographical regions around the country. Are you: –

  • A good listener and non-judgemental?
  • A person with the ability to work with people from diverse communities and with different needs?
  • Someone with experience of living with Chiari malformation/syringomyelia?

If so, then you may be the person we are looking for!

If you feel that you would like to help develop a support group in your area, then please get in touch and register your interest via local@annconroytrust.org. Likewise, if you are someone who would be interested in attending a local support group meeting, again please get in touch with us via local@annconroytrust.org, tell us where you live and provide us with your contact details.
